Garden Design
Garden Styles:
Anna's residential design projects are represented by an eclectic collection of garden styles ranging from historic Victorian garden restorations, to Mid-Century garden renovations, to contemporary gardens with new construction. The scale of her work spans from the intricate detail of a small courtyard design to the spatial landscape planning for multi-acre estates.
Anna extends her focus beyond the preliminary design phase into the actual implementation and construction of the project, and then into maintenance management.
A few terms...
Garden Restoration: Restoring a garden to its original state. As in historic gardens where replication of the pre-existing is of primary importance.
Garden Renovation: Updating of an aging garden. Significant features to be retained such as trees, pools, or a predominance of materials, usually dictate the direction of style.
New Garden: New construction with no pre-existing constraints. The most influential factors to a new garden are environmental and regulatory. While these constraints affect all gardens they are brought to the forefront of criteria in new gardens.
